Description

This potent, perennial, tufted, aromatic grass with plentiful robust cane-like stems that are covered with a waxy-powdery secretion offers the savory fragrance for Lemongrass Essential Oil deriving the purest form from the tip of the leaves where the highest concentration is held.

The short, ring-shaped rhizomes and extensive rootstock is harvested every 3 to 4 months in many countries over the lifetime of the crop however, smoother stems develop into tall, strap-shaped, tapering linear leaves that arch outwards forming a dense rounded clump of foliage providing the richest Lemongrass Essential Oil.

How to Use

NEAT: Lemongrass can be used directly on skin, but may be irritating NEAT. NEAT means full strength. Use wisely as it is not appropriate to use any Essential Oil in the immediate eye area or on sensitive areas. It is safe to apply this oil NEAT on the bottoms of feet, palms of hands & wrists pulse points if no restrictions on use have been given by your physician.

Dilute: Since this Essential Oil is very POTENT, you will generate beneficial results by diluting it in carrier oil. We recommend Chaé’s Brain & Body Boost as the fractionated coconut essential fatty acids are scent free. The small molecules of this coconut oil are ideal for helping transport the benefits of the Essential Oils. Put 1 tsp. of Brain & Body Boost in the palm of hand and add a drop of Essential Oil(s) and rub on desired non-sensitive areas.

Diffuse: Add drops as desired to your diffusing method of choice and enjoy.

PREGNANCY: There is warranted caution to be very careful during pregnancy. Please consult your physician prior to use. If told not to apply to skin, then inquire regarding permission to smell the Essential Oil.

PHOTOTOXICITY/SKIN SENSITIVITY: Even though our Lemongrass is not considered a photosensitive Essential Oil, it can also be irritating NEAT. It is advised not to apply any Essential Oil on areas that are immediately being exposed to direct UVA, UVB radiation unless highly diluted with a carrier oil. FYI: Besides some Essential Oils, certain prescription medications may also cause photosensitivity. Please consult your physician prior to use if prescribed any potential photosensitivity medications.

ORAL: Essential Oils should never be taken internally unless prescribed either by a physician or a qualified practitioner who has trained & been certified in medical standards.

Caution: Keep Essential Oil bottles out of reach of children. It is prudent for all Essential Oils to carry warnings as they are POTENT and thus require wisdom in discerning when and where to use them. In some countries Essential Oils are used medicinally, hence the reason to be prudent.

Lemongrass Essential Oil is also known as Cymbopogon Schoenanthus, and is a potent, perennial, tufted, aromatic grass with plentiful robust cane-like stems that are covered with waxy-powdery secretion. Located below the stems are short, ring-shaped rhizomes, and an extensive rootstock that is surprisingly shallow for a tall grass. There are smooth stems that eventually develop into tall, strap-shaped, tapering linear leaves that arch outwards forming a dense rounded clump of foliage. The purest of the Essential Oil content occurs at the tip of the leaves length where the highest concentration is held. It is the young leaves that contain more oil and is more potent than the mature ones. The leaves can be harvested every 3 to 4 months in many country over the lifetime of the crop. Chaé Lemongrass is harvested on sunny days whenever it’s possible since cloudy weather can reduce the content of oil in the leaves. After cutting the crop the harvest is left to wilt for a few days to reduce the water content and provide premium essential oil.
